NOTICE OF VACANCIES

PLANNING COMMISSION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Dunsmuir is accepting applications to fill three (3) vacancies on the Dunsmuir Planning Commission.

The Planning Commission serves as an advisory body to the City Council on matters involving land use, planning, zoning, subdivision maps, and other issues as provided by California law and the Dunsmuir Municipal Code. The Commission generally meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m., with additional special meetings scheduled as necessary.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.

  • Be a United States citizen.

  • Be a registered voter at the time of appointment.

  • Reside within the City of Dunsmuir or otherwise meet the residency requirements established by the Dunsmuir Municipal Code.

  • Be willing to attend regular meetings and complete any required ethics and planning commissioner training.

Appointment

The City Council will review applications and make appointments at a duly noticed public meeting in accordance with the Ralph M. Brown Act.

Term –Of appointment - 4 year terms ending June of 2030

Deadline

Applications must be received no later than August 9th, 2026

Applications received after the deadline may be held for future vacancies or if no appointment has been made by this time the city will continue to receive them as needed.
