NWS: Critical Fire Conditions Thursday (7/24/25) and Friday (7/25/25)

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Red Flag Warning for Thursday Afternoon (7/24/2025) and a Fire Weather Watch for Friday Afternoon (7/25/2025). These warnings indicate that the wildfire danger will be especially critical on both days, and that the weather conditions could facilitate the rapid spread of any new wildfire starts. This does not mean there is a fire.

Both days are expected to see scattered thunderstorms that pose the risk of widespread lightning that may ignite wildfires in dry fuels. The National Weather Service says thunderstorm outflow winds could gust as high as 40 to 60 mph, which could rapidly spread any new wildfires.
