NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The City of Dunsmuir City Council will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, on the following item:
Zoning Ordinance Amendment to Dunsmuir Municipal Code section 17.68.110 to Streamline the Permit Process for Painting in the Historic District and its Buffer Zone, and Adoption of a Historic Paint Palette (ZOA 25-01)
The project is a Zoning Ordinance Amendment to Dunsmuir Municipal Code Section 17.68.110 to amend the Historic Preservation chapter. The ordinance would streamline the review process for applicants seeking to repaint their structure in the Historic combining district and Historic buffer zone, providing an administrative review process for the proposed paint color(s) if an applicant selects the color(s) from an approved color palette. Currently, any change of color requires a discretionary review process.

The City Council will consider the proposed Zoning Ordinance Amendment and may approve, deny, or modify the proposal. All interested persons are invited to attend the public hearing and provide testimony. Written comments may be submitted to the City Clerk prior to or during the public hearing.
All comments received by the close of the public hearing will be considered by the City Council prior to taking action on this item. All items presented to the City Council as part of a public hearing, including but not limited to, letters, e-mail, petitions, photos, or maps, become a permanent part of the record and must be submitted to the City Clerk. Written comments should be addressed to: City Clerk, City of Dunsmuir, 5915 Dunsmuir Avenue, Dunsmuir, CA 96025 or emailed to: wperkins@ci.dunsmuir.ca.gov. It is advised that any commenter submit 10 copies of anything presented to the City Council in advance of the meeting with sufficient time for the materials to be distributed to and reviewed by the City Council, and that the commenter create copies in advance for their own records.
