In Dunsmuir, we explore...

...THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Dunsmuir is located in Siskiyou County, nested in a canyon near the base of majestic Mount Shasta. Castle Crags, a California State Park of eminence beauty, is just minutes away and other places to hike, fish, and explore are right in our backyard. The air is clean and fresh, our drinking water is the best on earth, and we have zero traffic lights.  The Upper Sacramento River cuts directly through our town and provides world-class trout fishing and ample swimming holes to escape the summer heat. If you love the outdoors, visiting or relocating here is sure decrease your stress and make you never want to leave.

...Our Rich history

In recent years, the economic makeup of Dunsmuir has shifted away from the railroad and logging industries, but once upon a time Dunsmuir was the bustling rail hub of Northern California and we still maintain the only Amtrak station between Redding and Klamath Falls, OR. Each year in June, we honor our rich railroad history with our Railroad Days celebration.

...Growing OPPORTUNITIES

Dunsmuir is home to several young entrepreneurs creating exciting new opportunities for jobs and increased economic activity.  Some of these companies are even helping create new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) programs in Dunsmuir's elementary and high schools.
